Seeking aQualified, Experienced Chef & Assistant Manager for busy site in Nerang,Qld
Full-time
Monday –Saturday some flexibility
Reports to: Café Owner
Required experience and skills:
o Experience preparing seasonal menu items and changing menus
o Experience cooking in café or small restaurant
o Ability to prepare simple menu
o Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
o Ability to train and support a diverse staff and volunteers thatinclude teens, community volunteers and work experience trainees
o Conflict resolution skills
o Basic Microsoft Office skills
o Strong organizational and communication skills
o Ability to lift up to 20 kilograms
o Ability to multi task and work in an active anddynamic environment
Preferred experience and skills:
o Barista knowledge or experience
o Experience working with whole foods
o Experience cooking from scratch
o Spatial organization
o Experience with food purveying
o Inventory management skills
o Experience managing kitchen order and minimize foodwaste.
General Duties/Responsibilities:
1. Cook to order breakfast menu
2. Prep for lunch menu
3. Cook to order lunch menu
4. Open and set up café properly daily
5. Maintain inventory and order café supplies: coffee,cups, to-go containers, beverages, etc.
